Join us as we toast to our 4th annual Make 12 Hours Count Radio Thon and announce our fundraising total at Elsmere BBQ in Portland!
In 12 Hours on March 27th, Veterans Count Maine took over the airwaves of Newsradio WGAN to raise funds in their annual “Make 12 Hours Count Radio Thon”. This will raise much needed funds for Maine’s Military Members, Veterans in need and their families, served by Easterseals Maine. On April 2nd, all are invited to celebrate Maine’s coming together to support Maine’s Military Members and reveal the total raised at the Radio Thon at a nonprofit night at Elsmere BBQ, at 476 Stevens Avenue, Portland, Maine.
“Throughout the day of the Radio Thon, donations and pledges come in and most of all, people share stories of service- their own, or those of their loved ones,” says Easterseals Maine Development Director Joseph Reagan. “Even the smallest donations help build that grand total, so every contribution is truly valued. We’re going to add up donations big and small and raise a glass in gratitude to each donor at Elsmere BBQ, and we’re really excited to be able to share this moment so publicly.”
Elsmere BBQ is an hourly sponsor of the Radio Thon, but will augment their donation with funds raised the evening of the reveal, where 8% of all orders, including take-out, will go to Veterans Count Maine to help build that Radio Thon total. The event is at the Stevens Avenue location on April 2nd from 4-9PM.
“At Elsmere BBQ & Wood Grill we are very proud to offer community support though our nonprofit nights. Veterans Count is one of the many excellent nonprofit organizations that we are happy to support,” say Elsmere BBQ’s owners, Adam Powers and Jeremy Rush.
“We hope everyone will join us for the Radio Thon on March 27th, and then come celebrate with us and some delicious food at Elsmere BBQ,” says Reagan.
