  • $1,000 will cover first month’s rent or security deposit
  • $750 is the average cost for a car repair
  • $500 provides food for a family of four for one month
  • $250 will purchase of a bed for a new apartment
  • $150 buys a business suit for an upcoming interview/job
  • $125 covers the monthly heating bill
  • $100 will pay for an overnight stay in a hotel for a homeless veteran while waiting for housing
  • $75 will pay for a monthly electric bill for single soldier
  • $50 will cover a prepaid cell phone gift card
